My Work

A Little About Me:

After graduating from High School, I continued my education at Kent State University where I worked towards a degree in Computer Information Systems. After a couple years I discovered a school in Orlando, FL called Fullsail which seemed a good fit for me at the time. There I studied Computer Animation, with a focus in texturing 3d models, and received an Associates Degree after 14 months. That was where I got my traditional training in digital painting and image manipulation. From there I headed back to Kent State to finish what I started and got my Bachelor’s degree in Technology. For the past few years I have been doing freelance web design work for various KSU departments and businesses in the area. I have worked with all of the current versions of Adobe software and have designed everything from blogs to simple designs for non-profit organizations. I have a true passion for this industry and find real joy in keeping up with the latest trends and software in the industry. I enjoy working closely with others and creating exactly what they desire, but also can and do work independently.
Currently I am focused on implementing completely table-less designs and strengthening my knowledge of PHP, Javascript, and Flash. I am also trying to learn motion graphics and working towards improving my technical writing.

Folk Alley went online in September 2003, offering live-streaming music over the Internet 24 hours a day. The hosted stream is produced by WKSU-FM in Kent, OH, which also built and maintains the web site.
FolkAlley.com At FolkAlley.com I was also in charge of the daily updates of graphics elements through the use of the same proprietary CMS. New navigational items and header images made in both Photoshop and Flash were a common task.

Kent State Student Accessibility Services is an office at Kent State University that provides assistance to students with varying degrees and types of disabilities in order to maximize educational opportunity and academic potential.
Student Accessibility Services At Kent State SAS my task was to take their current content and update the pages and layout to be more easily navigated. With a lot of the visitors having disabilities, there was a strong focus on web standards and creating the ability to be navigated by screen readers for the blind.

City Of Streetsboro
City Of Streetsboro The City Of Streetsboro hired me to completely re-do their website. From the ground up, I designed the look and feel of the site to the city’s standards while working very closely with the various departments. They hoped that the site would be a great source of information for the community and since launch averages about 500 pageviews a day. I still work with them closely today making small changes and updates to the site.

The Institute for Library and Information Literacy Education provides local, regional and national leadership in fostering valuable collaboration among teachers, school library media specialists and academic faculty who work together to promote information literacy in the K-16 classroom.
Institute of Library Information Literacy Education ILILE hired me on to expand their page design to take on another aspect that the organization implemented. There was a very strong focus on web standards in this project because I was working closely with a professor who taught the subject at Kent State University.

Hinterlands is a non profit agency committed to cultural awareness through travel, the arts, volunteerism and scholarship
Hinterlands Inc. I was the only web designer on this project. Using Photoshop for the layout, I worked with the Director of this organization to bring his vision to life. He has since taken over the site and it is still a work in progress.
